E4L- Mercy Ministries

E4L (Education for Libration):
E4L was started by Katy Kearns and Sangeeta Verma to provide English, Math and Hindi tuition to the children from slums. We have been running E4L projects for the last 5 years. Three year back we had started to offer adult education and sewing classes for the parents of the children in E4L. Right now we have 54 children and 12 women. We have two full time staff and six volunteers from our church. We have started E4L projects  in our other mission fields—in Badarpur, Sangam Vihar and Khadar. We are planning to launch E4L in Sion Sangati, Devli and Mehrauli. We are praying and planning to appoint a supervisor to manage our expanding number of E4L projects. Please pray for this need and opportunity. We have a curriculum and teaching system for our E4L classes and we praise God that our team was able to train people from three other churches for an E4L type of ministry. We run three day workshops to train teachers for adult Literacy classes. All together in 4 centers we have 141 children.

E4L aims to address 2 needs: the recognized need of education, and the unrecognized need of the gospel. Our vision is to serve in the likeness of Christ, sharing the good news of the gospel explicitly through the spoken Word, and implicitly through practical service.

A 2 hour programme for children of Hindi, Maths and English tuition, Bible activities, and games.
